nervousness

Dear Reader,

Can you perform under pressure?

I've never thought of myself as someone who could "clutch up" in a high-intensity situation. In fact, I have "choked" more times than I can remember. But I know it's an important aspect of myself I need to develop to be the leader that I want to be.

While I'm still working on it, I have come a long way to better manage my emotions in overwhelming situations. And I have learned to do so with a simple mental exercise - imagining I have already been in the situation and have already done the task a thousand times.

I don't think self-belief is everything, but I think it's hard to do anything without it. If you ever feel that a lack of self-belief is holding you back, try this mental exercise. It will bring a calm, presence, and poise that will allow you to focus on the task at hand.
